On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the Working Families Tax Cuts into law. Doc's wins for Kansas inside the package: no federal income tax on tips, deductible overtime up to $12,500, reduced tax on Social Security benefits, permanent TCJA rates, 100% bonus depreciation, an expanded $2,200 Child Tax Credit, and the Rural Health Transformation Fund. The Kansas Medicaid line item alone routes roughly an additional $1 billion to the state in FY26. On December 30, 2025, Kansas's first $221.9 million allocation from the Rural Health Transformation Fund was announced.
