Sen. Marshall reintroduced the bipartisan Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act (S. 1816) on May 20, 2025. The bill puts 24- and 72-hour decision deadlines on Medicare Advantage prior-authorization requests, mandates electronic prior-auth standards, and gives CMS authority over the timeframes. It has 63 Senate cosponsors and is supported by every major patient-advocacy and provider organization in the space. The House version passed unanimously in the prior Congress; Doc's current Senate bill is awaiting Finance Committee action.
