Credit Card Competition Act reintroduced

Doc reintroduced the bipartisan Credit Card Competition Act on January 13, 2026, following President Trump's endorsement of the legislation. The bill breaks the Visa-Mastercard duopoly on credit-card swipe fees by requiring large banks to enable an alternative routing network. Swipe fees currently add an estimated 1 to 2% to the cost of gas and groceries.
